About me

Hi, my name is Nadia. I live in Kyoto (Japan) and work in a 3 Michelin Star Restaurant as a chef.

I graduated from Kyoto Culinary Academy and I even hold the official license to prepare pufferfish as probably the only westener. And of course I feel extremely honoured to be the very first non-japanese staffmember in my place of work. My every day revolves around cooking and I really love my job – I basically live and breathe a branch of Japanese Haute Cuisine called Kaiseki and want to share my joy and my knowledge with all of you. And most importantly I want to show you how you can easily cook Kaiseki Cuisine in your own home kitchen!

Unfortunately Japan is full of restaurants that do not accept reservations from foreigners. Think exclusive Michelin Star restaurants like Iida, Maeda, Mizai and many more.

Luckily, they do however accept foreigners who are accompanied by trusted guides or translators to make sure that you have the same level of care and service as the japanese guests.
